1. How many days do I require for my recovery after rhinoplasty?

5 days of relative rest at home; this will help to limit inflammation.
These are the days with the most discomfort; you will present symptoms of constipated nose and for this we will prescribe medication.

2. Is the recovery painful?
No. Current technology offers painless surgery; minor discomfort is managed with analgesics such as ibuprofen or paracetamol.

3. How soon after can I return to exercise?
3 weeks

4. How many days after surgery can I travel by air?
After 12 days you can travel by air and return to work.

5. How soon can I see results?
2-4 weeks; however, the definitive result is evaluated after one year.

6. When are the stitches removed?
After 12 days we remove the stitches, as well as the small cast that protects your nose.

7. How long does the surgery last?
3hrs average in primary surgery and 5-7hrs average in secondary rhinoplasty.

8. What is primary rhinoplasty?
When we perform a nose job on a nose that has never been manipulated with either surgery or injectables.

9. What is a secondary rhinoplasty?
When we perform surgery on a nose that has already been operated by another professional and the result was not satisfactory.

10. What is a touch-up?
It is a small intervention to improve the result of the nose surgery; 95% of the patients DO NOT REQUIRE A RETOUCHUP.

11. Do you place plugs after surgery?
NO; We only place a silicone splint to avoid complications such as scar tissue between the nasal septum and turbinates; as well as a septal hematoma (clots in the nasal septum).

12. What complications can this type of surgery have?
None if you follow the indications to the letter. However, postoperative bleeding; infection of the surgical site; anomalous fibrosis; septal hematoma; allergic reaction to medications have been described.

13. How many days should I use the nasal packing?
I indicate it during the first month after surgery.

14. Will I have visible scars?
I performed open rhinoplasty in 90% of the cases; that is to say through a small wound in the lower part of the nose; this wound was sutured with magnifying glasses so it is not visible after 1-3 months.

15. Can I treat a breathing problem if I want to improve the aesthetics of the nose?
A high percentage have problems of nasal septum deviation or turbinate growth; these problems are treated in the same surgery.
